18U Coach - Gloria Fuentes - Swift

Glo is the daughter of former San Francisco
Giants player Tito Fuentes. She grew up playing
baseball until high school where she started to play Softball for Hillsdale high school in San Mateo. Gloria later went on to play at the College of San Mateo where she was named MVP Northern California's Player of the year in 1986. This led to many scholarship offers from SF state, St Mary's and Fresno St. just to name a few… She chose a different path playing for the Burlingame Flames and other independent teams.

In 2005, Gloria played for the Alameda Oaks in the California Women's Baseball League (CWBL) where she played infield and was excited to get back to her baseball roots! During this time she assisted in the girls little Giants clinics as a way to giving back to the community.

Gloria has spent many years as a hitting instructor for the girls in the San Mateo youth softball Organizations. In 2010 she was given an opportunity to be an assistant coach with the Manteca Tigers Organization led by Scherrie Whaley and Jon Kissee. In 2013 she joined the Manteca Wave Organization coaching in the 14u division along side of Ronnie Tiscareno. In 2014 she later transitioned to coaching in the 16u / 18u division where she currently is now.
